About Space Weather Week About Space Weather Week (Concluded April 23, 1999)
In an effort to accelerate and maximize the effective use of space environment research results in operations, the Space Environment Center will host a joint conference of users, researchers, and vendors the week of April 19, 1999. The 4th SEC User Conference will be held April 19, 20, and 21. The 3th annual Research-to-Operations Workshop, co-organized by Air Force Research Laboratory and NSF Division of Atmospheric Science, will be April 21, 22 and 23. The proximity of the two meetings, one emphasizing the operational concerns of users and one emphasizing research findings and new models, will foster communication among the researchers, the providers, and the users of space weather services. There will be time for attendees from both meetings to meet and converse informally.

Additionally, there will be a space weather services vendor meeting on April 21. This meeting will allow private sector enterprises access to both researchers (who might generate new products) and users (who might purchase new products). Vendors may therefore want to attend the Conference or the Workshop, or both.

Questions can be directed to Barbara Poppe (bpoppe@sec.noaa.gov) or to Terry Onsager (tonsager@sec.noaa.gov)

Next year's meeting is scheduled for May 1-5, 2000. Plan to be there!
